Team Percussion USA travelled to Ohio to compete in the WGI World Championships. After a season of first place finishes and winning the Western Division Championships, the WGI moved the team up to Open Class from A Class just before the World Championships. The team arrived in Dayton on Monday evening and rehearsed intensely from 9 to 5 PM Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at a secret location. Friday was another 1/2 day of rehearsals followed by the competition late Friday afternoon. Team Percussion placed 12 out of 25 entrants and finished ahead of Notre Dame and Penn State University.
The rehearsals in Dayton were long and hard but included TPerc's very first 'age out' ceremony for one member, three birthday celebrations and a lot of choreography, team bonding and, of course, percussion!
